Thanga Muthupandian

Thanga Muthupandian

Principal Geophysicist

Thanga possessed over 20 years industry experience in mineral exploration and in-mine geophysics as a team member and leader in the world’s top mining giants for various commodities starting from designing to target drilling. His previous role at Newexco, BHP Nickel West, IGO and Anglo-American Exploration (India) provided in-depth geophysical and geological skills and also exposure to broad aspects of mineral exploration such as, project evaluations, contract management and safety coordination. He has been involved in several recent discoveries including the Venus high grade nickel sulphides (plus 150 NiT) in Agnew Wiluna Greenstone Belt, Western Australia, witnessed the Nova-Bollinger nickel-copper sulphides deposits extension in Albany-Fraser Range, Western Australia, and the Rockface copper deposit at Jervois Copper project in Northern Territory, played key role in discovery of the Golden Swan Nickel sulphide deposit at Black Swan project in Western Australia.

Thanga completed a Master of Science and Technology in applied Geophysics in 2002 at Indian School of Mines (Indian Institute of Technology) one of the premier institutes for mining related courses in India. He is an active member of the ASEG and is also member of the SEG.

Lynelle Beinke

Lynelle Beinke

Senior Geophysicist

Experience in Australia and Africa exploring for base metals, gold and uranium at a range of scales from greenfield to minesite in hard and soft rock terrains. Very high technical ability and geological understanding with exposure to a wide range of geophysical techniques and styles of mineralisation.

Key Skills and Strengths:

  • Modelling and imaging of geophysical data and integration with other datasets to increase geological understanding and generate exploration models and targets.
  • Demonstrated ingenuity in constrained 3D inverse modelling of potential field datasets.
  • Modelling and interpretation of electrical datasets (AMT, CSAMT, EM, IP, resistivity).
  • Planning, execution and delivery of geophysical programs to complement new and existing exploration programs, combined with a high understanding of geophysical survey planning, field operations and quality control of data during acquisition.

Completed a Master of Economic Geology from The University of Tasmania in 2014.

Rob Black

Rob Black

Senior Geophysicist

Rob has a BSc Geophysics from University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada and joined Terra Resources in 2017. He is Canadian born and educated geophysicist and has lived in Australia for the past five years. Rob has extensive exploration experience in Uranium, Copper, Zinc, Gold, Kimberlites, Heavy Oil and Natural Gas. Being from a mining town, he has been exposed to exploration and geophysics since the late eighties resulting in a passion for exploration and discovery. Rob has worked with a number of different companies including Cameco, Moombarriga Geoscience, Hartley Geophysics and Nexen. Rob is an active member of ASEG.

Michelle Chard

Michelle Chard

Senior Geologist - Data Analytics

Michelle has a BSc Geology and BEd from Melbourne University and joined Terra Resources in June 2017. She is a geologist with 18 years experience in the mining and exploration industries on various projects around Australia and overseas. She was previously the Geological Systems Manager for Gold Fields worldwide exploration technical team; consulting internally on geological systems, database installation and exploration procedures.

Key Skills and Strengths:

  • Capture of open file and company data, database design and implementation.
  • Creating and maintaining database reporting and validation functionality for exploration databases
  • Independent advise on database design, management and change control
  • Integration of geological data with geochemistry and geophysics

JJ Leong

JJ Leong

Project Geophysicist

JJ graduated with an MSc in Petroleum Geoscience from Imperial College London and a BSc with Honours in Geophysics from Curtin University. Prior to joining Terra Resources in 2020, JJ has held a couple of roles across the mining, petroleum and software industries, including working as a geophysicist at Petroleum Geo-Services and solutions consultant at Dassault Systèmes.

He has experience in seismic imaging and interpretation and the exposure in conducting various geophysical studies on sites, including but not limited to seismic, gravity, magnetic and petrophysical surveys. He also has experience in using multiple geoscience softwares such as Oasis Montaj, Potent, Petrel, RokDoc, FEFLOW and ArcGIS.

Claire Mortimore

Claire Mortimore

Geophysicist

Claire obtained her BSc of Geology from the University of Western Australia with majors in Geology and Environmental Science.

As a graduate with a BSc, Claire was working at Terra as a Geologist as manager of the Terra Petrophysics laboratory, where she was applying geological knowledge to make valuable interpretations of geophysical data produced through petrophysical analysis and managing a team of laboratory technicians. Claire managed petrophysical projects and incorporated multidisciplinary datasets to contextualise petrophysical results.

Since completing her thesis on the ‘Geophysical Exploration of Graphite in the Eyre Peninsula’, Claire has been working at Terra as a geophysicist. Claire has completed extensive fieldwork across WA and SA, primarily focused on the planning, acquisition and processing of geophysical data. Including the acquisition and processing of Loupe TEM data as part of her thesis.

Ronald Yupa

Ronald Yupa

Geophysicist

Ronald has a BSc in Geophysics from San Agustin University of Arequipa, Peru, and completed a Master in Geoscience from UWA. Prior to joining Terra Resources, Ronald has been working with the Geological Survey of Peru and Fugro. As a geophysicist, he has vast experience in greenfield exploration, VMS, porphyry Cu-Au-Mo, epithermal and orogenic gold deposits, and geothermal fields. Ronald has gained knowledge in processing and interpreting geophysical data to provide a reasonable understanding towards the exploration of ore deposits and geothermal fields.

Aruni Rajanayake

Aruni Rajanayake

Geophysicist

Aruni has a BSc in Civil Engineering and a MSc.Eng in Petroleum Engineering from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). In 2021, she completed her MSc. in Geophysics from Curtin University. Prior to joining Terra Resources, she worked as a Project Geophysicist for a mining consultant and as a Sessional Academic at Curtin University and various other educational institutes in Sri Lanka. She joined Terra in November 2023 and is keen on expanding her knowledge and skills. Aruni is currently reading a PhD in Geophysics at Curtin University (Part-time), specializing in drilling sensor systems for minerals exploration.

She has experience in geophysical database management, processing and interpreting magnetic, gravity, EM and radiometric data. She is proficient in multiple software such as Oasis montaj, Leapfrog, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS and WellCAD.

Lea McClure

Lea McClure

Office Manager

Lea graduated with a Bachelor of Social Science at Edith Cowan University with majors in Psychology and Youth Work. She has been working at Terra Resources and Terra Petrophysics as an Office Manager since the beginning of 2022. Prior to joining Terra Resources and Terra Petrophysics Lea held roles with My Place and Life Without Barriers where she performed coordination and management of individualized services to people with disabilities and at risk youth.  Her extensive administration and management experience has enabled her to successfully perform overall coordination of a broad range of services that allow the organization to operate efficiently.

Lea assists in the development and implementation for all company policies and procedures. Furthermore, Lea maintains the administration of HR practices within the company, as well as, manages account and payroll.

Mike Dentith

Technical Advisor

Internationally recognised expertise in mineral exploration geophysics, with over 30 years’ experience in teaching, research and consulting as Professor of Geophysics at The University of Western Australia.  Experienced with all types of geophysical data and its applications in mineral and petroleum exploration and environmental studies.  Co-author of the award winning textbook, Geophysics for the Mineral Exploration Geoscientist.

Key Skills and Strengths:

  • Advanced knowledge of mineral system-based analysis of geophysical datasets especially as applied to orogenic gold, magmatic nickel-PGE and carbonate-hosted base metal systems.
